“GS College of Commerce & Economics, Nagpur granted Autonomous College Status by University Grants Commission” From the 2018-19 academic session GS College of Commerce & Economics, Nagpur, already a leading college for Commerce in Vidarbha, would be able to offer its students even better quality of education because it would become an Autonomous College. It is the first and only Commerce College in Nagpur University to be granted the Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission. It is a matter of pride for it, that the only other aided college in Nagpur University which is Autonomous, is its sister institution, Jankidevi Bajaj College of Science, Wardha. Autonomous status would allow it to improve the curriculum, examination system and yet the student would get the benefit of its aided status and the degree would be conferred by RTM Nagpur University. GS has been synonymous with quality Commerce education for 72 years. It always has and always will be a pioneer, furthering the interests of its students. Its receiving the Autonomous Status is both a confirmation of its quality and reflects the College’s commitment to take It up ever higher. It’s a landmark event in its eventful history and a step change which will improve its future, forever.
